The new development comprises 14 one bedroom flats which are designed to be fully wheelchair accessible. An office is located at the end of the site, adjacent to Tower Street, which will be used by management, care and support staff when visiting the site.
The scheme is designed as a series of separate ‘houses’ rather than a block of flats, using many of the design concepts established in the previous scheme. The spaces between the houses form a series of courtyards which allow views through the site from Old Acre Road, rather than a continuous and solid building frontage along the length of the street. The scheme has been designed to be open and connect with the neighbourhood and not be insular and introverted.
